
The Programme

Our SDC Youth Collective is an 8- Week creative cycle designed for young dancers who want to grow their skills and experience what it's like to work in a real screen and stage production environment.

Through professional training, choreography, and an on-camera experience, dancers will build confidence, technical ability and industry awareness while creating high-quality dance content.​
​
Ages: 11+
Program Length: 8 Weeks Cycle
Schedule: Saturdays @ 2-5pm (3hrs)
Spots: Limited to 11 spots per cycle
The Programme Breakdown
Each 8-Week cycle follows a creative journey from training to performance and production.

Weeks 1-4: Training & Development
Dancers will focus on:
- Technical dance training
- Progressing Ballet Technique/Floor Barre, Jazz Technique, and Lyrical Contemporary alternating with Commercial Street Dance
- Musicality, stamina, and teamwork
- Camera awareness and screen movement basics
- Learning from Guest Artists in the industry
These four weeks are about building strong foundations and preparing dancers for the creative process ahead.

Weeks 5-7: Choreography & Rehearsals
Dancers will:
- Collaborate on a theme for the production
- Learn original choreography created for the screen
- Work on formations, transitions and performance quality
- Practice camera angles, timing, and expression
- Refine group and individual performance skills
This phase brings the production to life through creative collaboration

Week 8: Production & Headshots
The final week is the full production experience:
- Individual Headshots & Collective picture
- Filmed dance performance for screen
-Final rehearsals and on-camera takes
This is where dancers see their hard work come together in a real production setting
Collective Mentorship
Throughout Weeks 1-7, each dancer will receive dedicated one-to-one mentorship from the Program Director. These sessions provide personalised feedback, artistic guidance, and industry insight to help every dancer grow in confidence, technique, and creative voice.




Spotlight Solo Film Option
Dancers may choose to apply for a Spotlight Solo Film, created to a professional standard and designed to highlight individual artistry and performance presence.

Options include:

> High-quality filmed material suitable for portfolios, auditions, and professional submissions
